Use a cooplix S8000 (£100 secondhand) 4 the always-have. Agree with you about the advantages.

Have a Nikon DSLR not used much to be frank.

But if I have the time then it's out with the old B&J 5x4 wood frame field camera I picked up for $300 from the US.

hour or so a shot and then couple of hours tank developing (in a warm water bath if colour), dry over night in dust free location.

from Photography as immediacy to photography as meditation. I know which I like best but I know what I do most often.

The first bit sounds similar to when we rented a place in Wales for a year. The woodblock floor started lifting up in waves in the Kitchen.

Digital really changed the game in terms of being able to experiemnt with lots and lots of shots.
I love that about it becasue I'm an experimenter.
I remember shooting 20 rolls of 36 frames in one day in Greece. Expensive!!

Only downside can be allowing profligacy to bypass judgement completely. Clearly not a problem you have.
